Vale: Thomas Gartlan

sdr

It is with great sadness I advise that our valued member and friend Thomas Gartlan passed away at approximately 3.30PM, Saturday 25 August 2018, after a short illness. Thomas was 84 years young.

A life member of the NSAA Geelong Sub-Branch and until 2017/18, Thomas was Senior Vice-President of the Victorian State Branch and Administrator of Headquarters Sub-Branch, a branch which he formed to give the opportunity for Nasho members without a branch enabling them to stay connected with the National Servicemen’s Association.  Thomas was a stickler for perfection and getting things right, he was a gentleman who was only too eager to help.  Thomas will be missed greatly by those who have worked with him in his endeavors. Even to the end he was finding out about things that he had been working on making sure that everyone new what to do. Thomas too the end left no stone upturned. May he rest in peace.

Bruce and Frank prepare themselves immaculately for all ceremonial events by turning out in their original uniforms and proudly representing the Navy National Servicemen – 1951-59. It is a testament to them both that they are still able to fit into their uniforms.

Bruce and Frank present in there uniforms at, National Servicemen’s Day held at the Shrine of Remembrance , NSAA State Branch Memorial Day held each March at Puckapunyal Military Base.

If you see them at one of these events don’t hesitate to have a chat.
