Monash Sub-Branch Nasho, Peter Tampion 3/773026 together with his Grandson, Cadet Callum Blackman, from Beaconhills Christian College Pakenham Cadet Unit.
Peters Medals are Victorian Police Service Medal, National Police Service Medal, Victoria Police Good Conduct, Long Service Medal. Peter served with the Victorian Police for 31 years. Peter also received both the Anniversary of National Service Medal and Australian Defence Medal.
Peter served at Puckapunyal 2nd Intake 1955 then CMF at Camperdown and Colac RAASC Units then Geelong Heavy Artillery as Sargent in charge of the Transport Section.
In the photograph Callum is wearing his Great Grandfather’s Medals – Pilot Officer Cecil Alexander McPherson 413321 RAAF – Cecil was a butcher from Wagga Wagga NSW.
Cecil was killed in action on 10th February 1944 whilst serving with the RAF flying Bristol Beaufighters.  Based at CATFOSS, Yorkshire, England. Cecil is presumed to be somewhere in the North Sea off the east coast of England.
Cecil McPherson’s Medals were also proudly worn during the London Remembrance Day March 2007, by Nasho RSM Rob Cousens at the request of Heather Tampion (Nee McPherson).
